When creating an account, you will be asked to enter your name, email address or other details to help you with your experience and create the Service.

We collect information when you create an account. We collect information when instructors create a course, assignment, critique, question, announcement, or comment. We collect information when students respond to assignments, critiques, or comment.

We may use the information we collect from you when you register, and use the service in the following ways:

  • We use your information to provide the service.
  • To understand and improve our services.
  • If you contact us with a problem or question, we will use your information to respond.
  • We use account data to administer accounts and track billing and payments.

This policy is not intended to place any limits on what we do with data that is aggregated and/or de-identified so it is no longer associated with an identifiable user or Customer of the Services.

How do we protect your information?

We do not use vulnerability scanning and/or scanning to PCI standards.
An external PCI compliant payment gateway handles all CC transactions.
We do not use Malware Scanning.

Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

We implement a variety of security measures when a user submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.

All financial transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

Do we use 'cookies'?

Yes. Cookies are small text files sent by us to your computer and from your computer or mobile device to us each time you visit our website. They are unique to your account or your browser. Session-based cookies last only while your browser is open and are automatically deleted when you close your browser. When participating in a CritViz course, instructors have full access to all student data for that course.

We may also release information when it's release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others' rights, property or safety.

In accordance with CalOPPA, we agree to the following:

Users can visit our site anonymously.
Once this privacy policy is created, we will add a link to it.
Our Privacy Policy link includes the word 'Privacy' and can easily be found on the page specified above.

You will be notified of any Privacy Policy changes on our Privacy Policy Page.
You can change your personal information by logging into your account.

How does our site handle Do Not Track signals?

We do not currently recognize or respond to browser Do Not Track signals. However, we do not have any advertising of any kind in the Service.

We use one third party analytics service (Google Analytics) that is used to analyze trends to better understand how users are using the Service and improve them. This information is not shared with any third party.

COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act)

Our Services are not directed to children under 13. If you learn that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us.

Fair Information Practices

In order to be in line with Fair Information Practices we will take responsive action, should a data breach occur. Within 7 business days we will notify users via in-site notification.
